Men who pee on the floor

I'm warning you... this is a rant. But.. you might feel the same way.

I can't tell you how sick I am of cleaning pee of the toilet and floor. You would think after 28 years my other half could point, shoot and aim. I'm I wrong about this?

I nag and complain about it, but then it ends in a stupid comment from the other end and then I get pissed and walk away sometimes laughing on how stupid it is we are arguing over pee pee on the floor.

What do you other woman do about this? Or is your other halves better trained?

I might have to make him sit down on the toilet if no improvement has been made. The one thing that get's me is that they can find a tinier hole at any hour of the day, moon or shine, but yet the huge porcelain bowl is unattainable for them to hit.

Spring Cleaning... Meh

When I think of Spring Cleaning, I think beyond the surface cleaning. I clean all week, dust, wipe, mop, sweep, polish. blah blah blah...

What I don't do all the time
  • Fill Away Bills/ important paper work
  • Finish project's in craft/guest room
  • Clean out kitchen cabinets and reorganize
This year for spring cleaning I want to do something different. I do all the normal cleaning weekly and a deep clean once a month. Deep cleans usually consist of cleaning the windows, closets and other random stuff you don't need to do weekly.

Things I just want to accomplish... and need to.
  • Fix computer, buy new hard rive and buy windows 7
  • Set up printer.... I haven't done this since we moved last may... gah!
  • Organize scrap booking supplies, create scrap book spot.
  • Buy sewing table and set up sewing machine and organize supplies
  • Print all photos of Mack and 2010. Organize photos in an album and prepare for scrap booking
  • Buy wall shelving and install in guest/craft room
  • Buy storage containers for scrap book, craft and Mack's art supplies.
I have a few projects I want to get done. Since Tahoe, most of spring consists of snow, I will have plenty of technical spring time to get these projects done. My main focus is the craft and sewing room.

What projects would you like to get done this spring?
What does your spring cleaning consist of?

Ready for the Weekend

I couldn't be more ready for the weekend. Seriously. It's been another tough week at work and just life.

I'm super excited, tomorrow will be Mack's first dance class. So we shall see how that goes and if she likes it. Luckily the studio lets them do a free intro class. She loves music, to sing and dance, so I don't see why she wouldn't like it.

I have a hefty list of things that I want to get done this weekend. Don't we all. Although spring doesn't come to the land of Lake Tahoe, CA until at least the middle or end of April. I have an itch to spring clean, organize and declutter the house.

Have a great weekend all!

Closet Makeover

A couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to clean out the old closet. I spent some quality and undivided attention to that diaster/ has mat zone for a couple of hours. I didn't want to, but I did. I got rid of things. I actually threw some stuff out and into a donate bin. I haven't done that in a while, and I'm glad i finally was able to let go of some of my items.

So here it goes.... Before Photos

and the after photo....

I'm so glad to have gotten this completed. It's not to my complete satisfaction. I want to incorporate more organizing bins and storage, but the first step was clean it out and get rid of some stuff. So, stay tuned for more photos of the closet project.

Also, I cleaned most of my office/craft/guest room. I'm so bummed I totally forgot to take before and after photos, but I will start the project from the first initial clean. So... stay tuned.

P.S. I have another surprise post for your today. Included before and after photos. Yippee!

I'm going in insane.. cleaning

I'm not sure who keeps pricking me with needles with a voodoo doll because I have to clean every night and every time I get home. I will leave my clean house to come home to a mess. Is there house trolls that throw a party in my house everyday while I'm at work. I swear, they need to find a new house to party at.
Both the hubs and I work full time and that leaves us very little time after work to clean the house, prep dinner, cook dinner, bath's, stories, laundry.. etc. If you are a full time working parent you know how crazy it can be once you walk into the door in the evening.

I clean everyday when I get home, and I can't sit and relax because I know there is always something I need to do. It is seriously making me go insane, physically exhausted, no time to relax, no time to play with Mack.

It's one of those self realizations.. "it's 8 o'clock already!"

I'm going to start a cleaning Schedule, that I stick too. Just a couple of things a day that I can finish in 30-40 minutes a night. I hope not to start on them until after dinner and so forth. I also, want to split up the tasks between the hubs and I so I don't have to do it all. Plus, he will know what to do and maybe that will help.

I don't have the cleaning schedule yet, but I will be making one soon. Any ideas? How do you get it all done? I need help!

Hello 2011, Goodbye 2010

Happy 2011, we made it through the holidaze coaster ride

I'm going to share with your my new years resolutions. I know they are late and it's corny and it's already the 5th day into the new year. I'm going to tell you anyway, so deal with it. I kid, I kid, I love you all, but seriously I'm still telling you anyway.

When sitting and thinking of what I really want to become, who I am, what I want, and what I want my future to hold, I really started to get a little depressed. Sappy moment to myself! This year is going to be the year that I focus on the things I want and make them happen for a change. So here is the list... don't hold your breath... they aren't that great.

1. Go to yoga once a week
2. Continue to go to the gym at least 3-4 times a week (on my lunch)
     (Ideally, 5 days a week)
3. Commit to giving myself a little time to do the things I want to do.
     (Knitting, Scrapbooking, Sewing, home projects)
4. Finish Mackenna's baby & Scrapbook.
5. Commit to a diet plan and stick with it
6. Finish craft room/office
7. Pay off 50% of Credit Card Debt
8. Be a better housewife
9. Spend even more time doing things with Mack.
    (Baking, art projects, coloring)
10. Keep car clean for more than 3 days in a row (don't laugh at me)
11. Start saving funds for family vacation
12. Open account for college savings for Mack
13. Stick to cleaning schedule so I have more time with family
14. Remember to send everyone's birthday cards this year

These are just to name a few things that I want to accomplish in the year 2011. I'm so excited for a new year and a new start. I have also printed this list and made it a new item on my mirror in my bathroom so I'm reminded of all of things I want to accomplish this year while I'm getting ready everyday.

Bye Bye 2010. You were a good and a bad year.

Good -
1. Mack started Preschool
2. I started working 8-5 like normal people, so I can be the one that get's Mack ready in
the morning and take her to school. I get to see her smiley face every morning now.
3. We moved into a new house and love the new location.
4. My mom moved from L.A. back to Truckee
5. Family from New Zealand came to visit.
6. We survived another year together as a young family

Not so Good -
1. My mom fought cancer with radidation and chemo most of 2010.
2. Tore my ACL
** not much on the list for "not so good"

What are your plans for the new year?

Thankful Thursday - I clean too much

A while back I proposed an hour a day cleaning schedule for myself. Well I've failed miserably. It always turned into more than an hour, no matter what. Maybe because I'm compulsive cleaning disorder would come out and I wouldn't stop myself, is the real reason. I've been finding that I clean as soon as I get home, I mean literally as soon as I get home from work. I would go, go, go and squeeze dinner in, or make the hubs do it. I would clean like mad until I realized that it was time for Mack's bedtime.

I missed out an entire evening with her. Granted I get to spend the whole morning with her now, but this is just not going to work for me.

Here is my idea.

1. Pick one Major Cleaning item a night... (laundry, bathroom, living room, marital room, Mack's room, guest room/office) and stick with just one item.
2. Clean kitchen and do dished every night after dinner.
3. Vacuum 1 room a night.
4. Do 1 load of laundry a night and fold it after Mack goes to bed while watching the usual TV shows and hubs and I watch after Mack goes to bed.
5. 1 sweep of the living room before bed of items that are out of place.

Then in between I might have more time with the hubs and Mack. So, where does the Thankful part tie into all of this. I guess I'm just thankful that I know when enough is enough and I need to make a change that will help me more available to my family. Whether it's work, me cleaning too much.. etc. These are the years of our children's lives where we don't want to miss out for any reason, and I'm not going to let my compulsive cleaning take time away from Mack.

78. My first Red Cup of the 2010 Holiday Season
79. Egg Nog
80. Mack's face with our first snow
81. Snow
82. My Family
83. Still Cruising the gym
84. Yoga classes
85. Cold Nights (19 degrees) I like to wear fuzzy socks
