Mack's FIrst Hair Cut

I had some serious anxiety when we walked into the hair cut place for Mack to get her first hair cut. Besides the fact that this was a Chuckie Cheese for hair cuts with TV monitors, movies, cartoons, cool bright colors and lot's to take in. I thought once Mack got into that chair there was no way in hell that lady would have a chance in getting the comb in.

SnipIts Hair Cut's for Kids

As soon as Mack sat down she was offered a lolly pop. The lady started up the cartoon on the monitor and Mack looked pretty content. She started to put the comb through and Mack just sat there. There were a couple of times, were a tangle was snagged and Mack wasn't too hip about it but overall the hair cut went really smoothly.

She loved the end when she was blow dried. Then she was sprayed up with some sparkles and a clippy. Overall it was an awesome experience for Mackenna and all for $15 bucks. Super sweet.

I went for the bob cut for her first one. So cute.

Waiting her turn and watching Planet 51

Lolli Pop to start the process

Me showing the lady let's go for a bob

Playing in the Snow

We played in the snow for an hour this morning. Mackenna loves snow. I was starting to get cold but Mackenna wanted to still play outside. I took her for a sled ride down the street. I think she ate about 4 cups of snow. What a great start to a Saturday. We going to spend the rest of the day cleaning up the house, baking sugar cookies and painting.

Mack's First 3 weeks of Preschool

Mackenna is on week 3 of preschool and now I'm posting about her first day with photos now. Ok, I know lame. Better late than never I always say : )

So the night before I was little bit of a wreck. I thought my house had to be perfectly clean and her room and clothes all washed and ready to go for the week. I packed her lunch the night before in her new lunch box, and made sure her name was written on everything.
I didn't really sleep a wink that night, because I was afraid she wasn't going to like it and they would be calling me tomorrow at work to come and pick my monster up. I got up real early the morning of the first big day and was making sure that her backpack was all packed up and then I woke her up. She usually sleeps in until 7am, but for preschool she needs to be up no later than 6:15am. She was so grumpy, to say the least. I pretty much had to pin her down on the couch just to get her shoes on. By the time we were running out the door it was 7:10am... we were looking pretty good to be on time to preschool that starts at 7:30am. I was on the main road headed to Mackenna's school, when I realized that I left my hot iron on. I turned around and zoomed back home to turn that the stupid thing off. I jump back in the car and by this time Mackenna is loosing her patience with me. I told her not to worry we are really off to school now.

We finally got to her school, and I started putting away all of her stuff in her new cubby. Then I watched her play for a little bit and she completely forgot I was even there until I asked for a hug and kiss goodbye. She turned around and told me "no! cya mummy." At first I was sad, but then I was super happy that she was going to have a good time at school. I walked out to my car and realized that even though she is two years old, she is still my little baby. It's hard to realize that they are a little person and not a baby anymore.
So far, we are on week 3 of school and the morning's are getting easier and running more smoothly. I swear her vocab has increased beyond my expectations. She is really loving school.

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween.

I bought 7 bags of candy and we ran out by 7pm. So, next year I'm thinking it's going to take Costco size candy bags. Mackenna had a really good time trick or treating. We hit up our street first, and then we went to a neighborhood in town a little ways and Mackenna got loaded up on the candy. She asked me for a piece this morning for breakfast. Don't think so....

Mackenna had a lot of fun trick or treating this year as Tinkerbell.

Thankful on a Thursday - Mack goes to Preschool

I've been really lucky to have my Mom, Sister-In-Law and my friend Kieara watch Mackenna the first two years of her life. However, my daughter is ready for new challenges and she will be starting her very first day at pre-school next week. I'm so excited for her, because she is going to have so much fun with other kids and playing all day.

Side note: I'm a little freaked out, but it will all work out.

There is also another big change for me. I will be saying good bye to my 6-3pm shift at work that I've been working for the last 4 years. I will be changing to a more realistic shift for Mackenna my daughter of 8-5pm and will be getting her ready in the morning and getting her to and from school. I'm used to leaving the house so early that A. it's still dark outside and B. everyone is still sleeping. So I'm excited to be to get her ready in the morning and head to school and work. Working 8-5 will be weird at first I'm sure, but its for the best for Mackenna right now.

What are you Thankful for this week....
