Out with the Old in with the New

Finally, after 5 years together we finally got a new couch. I guess I've always thought of other things to spend money on rather then getting a new couch. Like TV, Cars, Ipods, whatever I can get my little hands on. Luckily, Ian's parents gave us some cash flow for a couch for Christmas. Sweet! Guess how much we scored our new sectional for..... $500 bucks! Woot. What a score.

The old UN matching ugliness.

The old unmatching couches.

Ian trying to figure out how to finish it.

Tada! Here is the new addition to the Wright Family

Love, Love it. Love the color.

and... one more view.

I'm so happy to have a new couch and a sectional with a chaise lounge. Now Ian and I have a new argument every night. Who get's to sit on the chaise lounge end. God help us.

Closet Makeover

A couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to clean out the old closet. I spent some quality and undivided attention to that diaster/ has mat zone for a couple of hours. I didn't want to, but I did. I got rid of things. I actually threw some stuff out and into a donate bin. I haven't done that in a while, and I'm glad i finally was able to let go of some of my items.

So here it goes.... Before Photos

and the after photo....

I'm so glad to have gotten this completed. It's not to my complete satisfaction. I want to incorporate more organizing bins and storage, but the first step was clean it out and get rid of some stuff. So, stay tuned for more photos of the closet project.

Also, I cleaned most of my office/craft/guest room. I'm so bummed I totally forgot to take before and after photos, but I will start the project from the first initial clean. So... stay tuned.

P.S. I have another surprise post for your today. Included before and after photos. Yippee!

Mack Monthly Update

I can't believe I'm writing another Mack Monthly update post already. I swear I just did it a few days ago. My oh my how time flies. She is doing really well and taking into reading all the time now. Even if she is interpreting the photos and making up her own stories to herself, the fact that she is engaging in books by herself is awesome. She can now take her own shoes off. Usually when we enter the door at home that is the first thing that she wails at you for. Mommy, "shoes off!" She is now just doing it herself which is a big help. Because I'm a working mom and so is dad, we have limited time in the evenings to go chores, dinner, baths, play time and quiet time. We have to bum rush in the door and do everything as quickly as we can. It has been a little helpful that Mack now goes to bed around 9. So 8-9 is typical play time and Bath squeezed in. She helped me even load the dish washer last night. It was nice, because I got to hang out with her, engage with her and get a chore done. Win, Win! She loves putting the silver ware in their spots and is almost a little OCD about how they go in. On January 29th I got her first hair cut. Check out Mack's First Hair Cut post. She loved it and was a real good sport about it. I'm glad that she enjoyed it and I think will look forward to going again.

Weight: 36 pounds

Height: I'm not really sure. I swear 3 ft tall.

New Words: I'm sorry, ouch, boo boo, hurt me, excuse me, please

Eating Habits: She is getting better and better about eating different things. We try showing her how good it tastes. Some nights she is just not into trying anything and other nights she digs right in.

Favorite Movies: Aladdin, and How to Train your Dragon. (at first she wasn't sure what to think of this movie and now she loves it.)

Activities: She loves to giddy up on her horse on a stick, loves to stick stickers everywhere, playdoh, and just sitting in her room reading books to herself.

Potty Training Status: It's still hit and miss, but we are making progress.

Sleeping: We have pushed her bedtime to 9, because 8 was too early for her, she was waking up at 4am. She has been waking randomly and getting up and playing. I think we fixed that by putting her back in her bed right away.

I heart packages

Mackenna has the most talented great grandmother out there. We received these in the mail yesterday. Knitted booties. There is fur in the inside for her feeties. These are so awesome.

Back to work...quick update

1 day off was most def needed to recover from this cold/death. I'm not sure if I can classify it a cold, when I I felt like dying. I feel a little bit better today. I'm doped up on dayquil and tea. I'm about to indulge in my tasty Isagenix shake this morning. Hopefully, I will be back to full blogging potential by tomorrow... or I might surprise you all later. Might need to wait until this dayquil really starts to kick in.

Have an awesome wednesday... I'm excited for super bowl.

Isagenix Week #1

Week #1 on Isagenix went a little something like this:

I've done this system before and I think the other times I wasn't as serious as I am now. I'm drinking water and peeing 9 times a day, maybe even more. I've decided to have a shake in the morning and for lunch so I can have my lean meal at home for dinner. Sometimes this has happened and other days not. It was my Birthday this last weekend (1/29) I did have ice cream cake and mashed potatoes. Oh well, shoot me. Also, I've been sick since sunday morning, so I've been drinking tea and cough drops and soups and no shakes for two days. I guess that's just what happens when you get sick.

I'm not falling off the bandwagon I'm still motivated and once I get this gunk out of my chest I will be back to it full time and at it. This week I'm going to be going back to the gym, hopefully 6 days a week. I go on my lunch so I don't have the temptation of going home and not removing myself from the house.

Like I said the shakes are amazing and the cleanse days are tough. Luckily only once a week. I choose to do them on a sunday, so I'm not killing myself at work and can relax or do something else to preoccupy my time with.

Weigh in this morning:  -7.3 pounds

Weight left too lose: 52.7

1st goal: January 30th - 10lbs Not Reached I'm down 7.3 lbs Not loosing hope. Hope to kick this cold.
2nd goal February 15th - 15lbs (Reward to myself: hair cut and new jeans)
3rd goal February 28th - 20lbs
4th goal March 15th - 30lbs

Daily Goals:
Gym - once a day 45 minutes minimum (Starting again this week)
Water - 8-9 glasses a day. Even if I have to force it. (It's been half and half the last 2 days with chest congestion)
No to: Coffee, soda (includes diet coke), juice. Just water for a week. Phew. I need a miracle. (I cup of coffee this weekend, eeks)

Once I get over this cold I will be going at it again and hardcore. I start the gym at the end of this week due to waiting to get this crap out of my chest.
